What Is the Right Way of Doing Worship?

What Is the Right Way of Doing Worship?

Worship, or bhakti, is the path through which a soul seeks union with the Supreme God. Across religions and traditions, people adopt various forms of devotion—rituals, fasting, chanting, meditation, pilgrimages, and more. But with so many paths available, the question arises: What is the right way of doing worship that leads to salvation (moksha)?

The scriptures of all major religions reveal that true worship is based on divine knowledge, not blind rituals. According to the teachings of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, based on holy scriptures like the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Quran, Bible, and the Guru Granth Sahib, the right way of worship is that which is ordained by the Supreme God and delivered through a Tatvadarshi Saint.

1. Worship Must Be Based on Scriptures

The Bhagavad Gita 16:23–24 clearly warns:

"He who discards scriptural injunctions and acts according to his own desires neither attains perfection, nor happiness, nor the supreme goal."

This verse shows that any worship not aligned with scriptures is useless. True worship must be authorized by holy texts, not invented by human tradition.

2. Worship Must Be Learned from a Tatvadarshi Saint

The Bhagavad Gita 4:34 says:

"Go to the Tatvadarshi Saints, prostrate before them, ask questions with humility, and they will impart the knowledge of the Supreme."

A Tatvadarshi Sant is one who has complete knowledge of the Supreme God and the path to reach Him. Such a Saint gives the real mantras (naam) of worship revealed by the Supreme God Himself. Without such guidance, people continue in rituals that have no spiritual benefit.

3. The Supreme God Grants True Worship

In Bhagavad Gita 18:62, the speaker of Gita (Kaal) says:

"Go in the refuge of that Supreme God with all your being; by His grace, you will attain supreme peace and the eternal place."

The Supreme God is Param Akshar Brahm, known as Kavir Dev (Kabir Saheb) in the Vedas. It is He who appears on Earth in human form to provide the true way of worship that liberates souls from the cycle of birth and death.

4. True Worship Involves Naam Initiation

All scriptures mention that chanting the correct mantra (naam) given by God or His authorized Saint is essential. Just visiting temples or lighting lamps is not enough.

According to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, the true worship includes:

  • Receiving Naam Diksha (initiation) from a true Saint
  • Chanting the Satnam and Saarnaam (the mantras revealed by Supreme God)
  • Leading a life of purity, truthfulness, and non-violence
  • Understanding spiritual knowledge through scripture-based sermons

5. Examples from Scriptures

In Vedas:

The Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukta 96 Mantra 17 says:

"Kavir Dev (Supreme God) gives knowledge through speech and poetic verses to purify the souls."

This shows that God Kabir comes in human form to give the true mantras.

In Guru Granth Sahib:

"Hari ke Naam Kabir Ujaagar, Janam Janam ke Kaate Kaagar" (GGS Ang 487) Kabir has revealed the true Name of the Lord, which erases sins of many lifetimes.

This confirms that Kabir Saheb revealed the correct way of worship, which leads to salvation.

6. The Wrong Way of Worship Yields No Result

Bhagavad Gita 7:12–15 warns that worship of demigods and material elements (like idols of gods or goddesses) is conducted by the ignorant, and they do not attain salvation. Similarly, Gita 9:25 says that those who worship demigods go to demigods, not to the Supreme God.

So, rituals like burning incense, fasting, temple visits, or chanting random mantras not given by a true Saint are incomplete and ineffective.

Conclusion

The right way of doing worship is:

Scripture-based
Taught by a Tatvadarshi Saint
Involves chanting true mantras (Naam) given by the Supreme God
Brings liberation from birth and death

In this era, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is the only Tatvadarshi Saint who is providing the scripture-based devotion and initiation (Naam Diksha) as per the teachings of God Kabir, the Supreme Being.

Only by following this true spiritual path can a soul attain complete salvation (moksha) and return to the eternal abode, Satlok.

“Do not waste this human life in rituals and ignorance. Seek the true Saint, receive the true mantra, and do the worship that guarantees eternal peace.” – Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
